Dr. Wender specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and also attended N. Y. University School of Medicine. He completed both internship and residency in Surgery at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, MA, and residency in orthopaedic surgery in Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was also chief resident. In 1974 — 1975, Dr. Wender assisted in the research “using sephadex column chromatography for characterization of proteoglycan subunit.”Dr. Wender was also appointed clinical fellow in Surgery at Harvard Medical School, followed by a clinical fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery. He has completed two publications on the subject of patellectomy: Patellectomy and Its Effects on Quadriceps and Hamstring Function: A Critical Analysis and A Critical Analysis of Postoperative Strength.
